Crockett & Jones Connaught 2

The most easily recognizable of all classic styles is the elegant English Oxford style. This formal style, which dates back over two hundred years, is believed to have been named by students at the University of Oxford, although it is almost certain that this style is even older. The sequence of construction operations for an Oxford differs from that of a Derby. The inner and outer quarters are sewn under the vamp, and the tongue is sewn separately under the quarters/vamp/face. Often referred to as 'closed lacing'.

The 379 last is a part of the main collection featuring a classic round toe. Retaining the toe shape (only) of the long-favored 236 last, this updated version has been reshaped and reformed to produce an exceptional fit for formal office shoes. The result is a traditional and recognizable toe shape from Crockett & Jones, combined with a technically superior fit that is very well adjusted at the joint, cone, width, and overall heel.
